Aboriginal people wanted you to know the new law that was rushed through WA Parliament would not stop the destruction of Australia’s cultural heritage. It is unthinkable that the 2020 destruction of rock shelters (or caves) – with evidence of human occupation dating back 46,000 years  in the Pilbara could happen again. But the new law will not stop it happening. It wasn’t the first event of this kind – and it won’t be the last. Australia’s cultural heritage is being harmed or destroyed every day. It’s complex. We wanted to make sure the people of Western Australia understood (and continue to understand) the importance of the issue and what can be done to help stop the destruction right now. We need your help to ensure the people who are affected the most have the biggest say.
